- Topic is what it is about (usually 1 or 2 words and you can tell without reading) the main idea requires thinking after reading and determining what it is what the author wants you to learn (1 sentence)

- Creating number lines and reasoning with placement of numbers

Science
- Observations and inference
- Observation uses the five senses to describe an object or event
- Inferences are an idea or conclusion drawn from observations and previous knowledge/experiences
- We practiced observations and inferences by trying to identify mystery samples & different bird beaks
