Week of 11/4 - 11/8

Hello 3N Families!

Here is a peek into what we have done during this zigger zagger week!

  • determining the main idea in nonfiction
  • finding details to support the main idea
  • preparing for student led conferences
  • comparing numbers
  • playing new math games
  • determining what is a testable question in science
  • explored how to design an experiment, collect data, and record data
  • tested which ball bounces the highest
  • practiced writing a conclusion using science data
  • Friday we did a 3 act math task! It took a lot of perseverance!
  • brainstormed ways to use courage in the classroom

  • Next week we will work on rounding numbers using a number line. We will work with numbers within 1,000 and round to the nearest 10 and 100. If you would like to see a video on the strategy we will be using you can see it here. Brain Pop Rounding The Login is username: stratham password: smswolves
  • I am also emailing a resource for ideas to play math games at home for those who are interested. There is no expectation to do this!

Thank you to everyone who came to conferences this week! It has been such a joy to sit with you and discuss your child. I am so proud of how hard they have worked to prepare their conference for you and how well they have presented their learnings. It truly is student ownership at its best!

I hope you all have a wonderful and restful long weekend!
